Cathedral Museum Hildesheim

Schilling Architekten, 2010

With Schilling Architekten I worked on the museum for the Cathedral of Hildesheim, a UNESCO world heritage site, that is currently refurbished and transformed by the architects.
Next to several material and organisational studies for the cathedral itself, my task was to design the museum with its new annex and simultaneously develop the exhibition concept together with the curator. Apart from the conceptual development of the exhibition, my work included first steps towards a detailed design of the building and the incorporation of a highly sensitive climate concept.
The museum will exhibit relics and other cathedral treasuries next to selected modern art pieces when it opens to the public in summer 2014.
