New housing typologies in Baku
Bauhaus University Weimar, 2009
My Bachelor thesis, completed in 2009 with honours is a typological
research and assesses new forms of dwellings evolving in the
city of Baku during the city's second oil boom.
The new business elite, the winners of the recent oil boom are
trend setters not only in society but in in construction, too.
Their new housing types could be considered as a tendency and
therefore play a crucial role in the urban development of Baku.
The new typologies drastically change the existing relationship
of public and semi-private space and possibly speed up the
change of societal patterns.
